Yellowstone Lake

Boat, fish or swim on one of the few lakes in south­west Wisconsin.

Yel­low­stone Lake State Park is in the drift­less area of south­west Wis­con­sin. This 1,000-acre park, with an addi­tional 455-acre lake offers vis­i­tors ample space to enjoy camp­ing, swim­ming, fish­ing, boat­ing, hik­ing, bik­ing and pic­nick­ing. In win­ter the park is open to ice fish­ing, snow­mo­bil­ing and cross-country skiing.

The lake is stocked with game fish on a reg­u­lar basis. The park has 128 fam­ily camp­sites, five group sites, nine pic­nic areas, a reserve­able shel­ter build­ing, a swim­ming beach, two boat land­ings, and a canoe launch.

The area is filled with bike trails in the Yellowstone Bike Loop.

And don’t for­get to stop by the Yel­low­stone Lake Dairy Bar at 7125 Lake Rd Blan­chardville, WI for great food and it’s pop­u­lar selec­tion of ice cream. Boat rentals are located here and are avail­able dur­ing summer.

The 4,000-acre Yel­low­stone Wildlife Area next to Yel­low­stone State Park offers many addi­tional recre­ation oppor­tu­ni­ties, includ­ing horse trails and a shoot­ing range. The wildlife area is man­aged by the Bureau of Wildlife Management.

The state park and wildlife area com­bined total over 5,500 acres.

Each vehi­cle park­ing at Yel­low­stone Lake State Park must have a vehi­cle admis­sion sticker.
