Boat, fish or swim on one of the few lakes in southwest Wisconsin.
Yellowstone Lake State Park is in the driftless area of southwest Wisconsin. This 1,000-acre park, with an additional 455-acre lake offers visitors ample space to enjoy camping, swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, biking and picnicking. In winter the park is open to ice fishing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
The lake is stocked with game fish on a regular basis. The park has 128 family campsites, five group sites, nine picnic areas, a reserveable shelter building, a swimming beach, two boat landings, and a canoe launch.
The area is filled with bike trails in the Yellowstone Bike Loop.
And don’t forget to stop by the Yellowstone Lake Dairy Bar at 7125 Lake Rd Blanchardville, WI for great food and it’s popular selection of ice cream. Boat rentals are located here and are available during summer.
The 4,000-acre Yellowstone Wildlife Area next to Yellowstone State Park offers many additional recreation opportunities, including horse trails and a shooting range. The wildlife area is managed by the Bureau of Wildlife Management.
The state park and wildlife area combined total over 5,500 acres.
Each vehicle parking at Yellowstone Lake State Park must have a vehicle admission sticker.
